Q: What do I do if my child is getting picked up a different way than the usual way?
A: If your child is going home a different way that normal, SEND A NOTE!! Children, especially those in Kindergarten have trouble remembering a change in transportation plans. We will not send your child home a different way than the normal way unless there is a written note from the parent/ legal guardian. If there is no note, we will send your child home the normal way.
Q: What is the behavior management policy in Mrs. Boyd's class?
A:We do lots of things to praise positive behavior and monitor our behavior in our class! We use the website and app called Class Dojo for students to earn points for different positive behaviors each day. You can connect to see how they are doing too!
Q: What happens if my child is sick?
A: Please keep your children home until they are better! We have lots of bodies in our classroom and we want to keep each other healthy! Once your child is feeling better please send a written excuse from a parent/ legal guardian the day of his/her return to school. It is Wake County's policy to keep a child at home for at least 24 hours after they have a fever.
Q: Can parents volunteer in the classroom? How can I be involved as a parent?
A: Of course! I encourage parents to sign up and be a guest reader, help with small groups, help chaperone field trips or help with learning seasonal learning opportunities . There will be many opportunities to help out with our class during the year.Please note that in order to volunteer in the classroom you must first register as WCPS Volunteer and be cleared. I appreciate all that you do for your child and our class! Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
Q: Can I celebrate my child's birthday with the class?
A: We LOVE birthday's in our class and I encourage you to make that day extra special for your child! You may bring a special treat for the entire class to have at snack. Please try to stay away from cupcakes/ sugar foods. Please only bring in STORE BOUGHT ITEMS. We can not have home made items brought in due to children and teachers with food allergies. We encourage healthy eating choices in our classroom.

fresh veggies
applesauce
crackers
Cheese-its
graham crackers/ teddy grahams
yogurt or gogurt
raisins
